The Apostle's Creed sums up very nicely almost everything that I believe in. I also believe that the bible is the Inspired word of God that is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness (2 Tim 3:16).
I don't profess to have all the answers, nor am I able to sufficiently articulate what I believe. However, there are some issues that I think are foundational to one's faith, and to the direction our modern day society is heading. Here are some of my thoughts.

This is a topic that God has called me to stand for, and I post my views here, knowing that some will disagree with them. I openly welcome any debates or discussion regarding this topic. If it is an issue that you haven't wrestled with before, I pray that you will keep an open mind and consider ALL the facts without bias. It is difficult especially when a lot of the media groups have explicitly/implicitly supported the Pro-Choice movement. (Why else would you see the terms Pro-Choice vs. Anti-Abortion instead of Pro-Life vs. Baby Killers?)
From a non-biblical perspective ...
From a biblical perspective, scripture first tells us that an unborn baby is alive, and is to be protected. In Exodus 21:22, God gives a specific law that if two men fight and cause a pregnant woman to give birth prematurely, they must be fined according to the damage done to the baby. In Luke 1:41, the baby within her leaped for joy when Mary greeted Elizabeth. In Genesis 25:22-23, the two babies jostled each other within Rebekah. When she inquired of the Lord, "Why is this happening to me?", the Lord said to her "Two nations are in your womb, and two peoples from within you will be separated ...". Pretty convincing evidence that babies are human beings.
If one believes that babies are human beings, then the commandment "Thou Shalt Not Kill" should be very clear.
This is a fairly recent issue that has developed in our society, and needs immediate addressing. In the space of just a few months, a series of events in Canada leaves us on the brink of becoming only the third nation in the world to legalize same sex marriage. On May 1, 2003 the BC Court of Appeal delivered its decision that same-sex partners should be permitted to enter into legal marriage. On June 10, 2003 the Ontario Court of Appeal redefined marriage to be the "voluntary union for life of two persons to the exclusion of all others", and ordered the Ontario government to immediately issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples.
On June 17, 2003, Prime Minister Chretien broke the Government's promise to defend marriage, and announced that the Government would not appeal the Ontario Court of Appeals decision, but were instead preparing a bill to redefine marriage as any "two persons". I am thankful that God is starting a movement amongst his people to take a pro-active stance to uphold our traditional definition of marriage.
From a biblical perspective, there are many references to homosexual behavior and how such behavior is condemned. In Genesis 19:1-25, the Lord destroyed the town of Sodom and Gomorrah for their hideous sins. Homosexual behavior is mentioned explicitly in versus 5-8. In Leviticus 18:22, God says "Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable". There are other explicit old testament references (Leviticus 20:13, Judges 19:22-30). These old testament ideas are further reinforced in new testament scripture which condemn homo sexuality, e.g. Romans 1:24-30 , 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 , 2 Peter 2:6-10 , Jude 1:7.
From a non-biblical perspective, redefining the definition of marriage would cause complete chaos in the future. Consider that the same arguments could be made for other relationships such as a father-daughter union. There is scientific evidence that the human race was not meant to procreate under such arrangements.
